WPLUG Governance
WPLUG operates as a collective. Our governance is designed to ensure that the group remains representative of its members while maintaining the decisive leadership necessary to execute a vision.
The Core Logic
Leadership Election: The collective elects leadership to fill roles as they are needed or created. These elections are conducted via popular vote of the membership.
The Chairperson: Leadership elects a Chairperson from among their own ranks. Upon election, the Chairperson vacates their previous role to assume this position.
Decision Making:
- The Chairperson has the final say on all proposals.
- The Check: The Chairperson's decision can be overruled by a 3/5ths majority of the Leadership body.
- Emergency Override: An emergency quorum may be convened to override the Chairperson's emergent actions.
- Technical Decisions: Made by a committee of at least one director plus relevant members—no general vote required.
Voting:
- Members vote on direction and actions of WPLUG—not on everything.
- Absence from quorum reduces votes needed to act.
- All votes conducted via Loomio: vote.wplug.net
Accountability:
- Leadership is elected by the membership.
- Any officer may be removed by 5/7ths vote of the membership.
- Members may be removed by 9/13ths vote.

Knowledge should be shared. No gatekeeping. Keep it FOSS.
