====== Membership ======

WPLUG is a community, not a gated club. Whether you are a lifelong Linux user or just starting your journey toward digital sovereignty, you are welcome here.

**Note:** WPLUG is currently in a state of revival. We are updating our membership structures to better reflect the modern goals of the collective.

Historically, membership in WPLUG has been open to any person aligned with the group's purpose. While we are refining the process for the "New WPLUG," the core principle remains: if you believe in FOSS and the power of community, you are already part of the conversation.

If you have questions about current membership status or want to help shape the new membership model, please reach out to us at [[mailto:membership@wplug.net|membership@wplug.net]].

====== Member Benefits ======

We believe the primary benefit of WPLUG is **knowledge and connection**.

The "New WPLUG" aims to move beyond simple organizational rights and provide tangible value to those who want to escape the cloud:

  * **Peer Support:** Access to a network of local experts who can help you debug your first home server or optimize your Proxmox cluster.
  * **Shared Resources:** Community-driven guides on self-hosting, hardware recommendations, and "battle-tested" software stacks.
  * **Real-World Connection:** A place to meet other people in Western Pennsylvania who share your passion for technology and freedom.

If you have an idea for a service or a resource that would benefit the community—especially something that helps people achieve digital sovereignty—please [[mailto:info@wplug.net|e-mail us]] and let us know!
